Covid case and death rates were higher in GOP-led states in second half of 2020, study finds

This article from CNN reports a study that found that Republican-led states had higher rates of Covid cases and death than Democratic-controlled states. The report states that Democratic states led both of these categories in the early months of the pandemic, but this drastically changed over the summer. At the peak rate for both parties, the GOP state’s rates were 1.8 times higher than the Democrat states.
